Tragic Motorcycle Crash Claims Two Lives in Deltona, Florida

DELTONA, Fla. – Tragedy struck in Deltona on Tuesday evening as two lives were lost in a devastating motorcycle crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Around 6 p.m., a motorcyclist and their passenger were travelling south on Normandy Boulevard towards Sullivan Street. The peaceful evening took a deadly turn when a Mazda SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Sullivan Street.

At that moment, the motorcycle, travelling at an “extremely high” speed, collided with the SUV’s right front fender, resulting in a catastrophic impact, as reported by FHP.

Both the motorcyclist, identified as Joshua E Colon Cirino, 26, of Deltona, and the passenger were thrown from the motorcycle in the violent crash. Despite the valiant efforts of witnesses to save them, both individuals were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The female passenger’s identity has yet to be released, adding to the somber nature of the incident. Meanwhile, the two occupants of the SUV were fortunate to escape with non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

FHP’s preliminary investigation suggests that Cirino may have been travelling at speeds exceeding 80 mph at the time of the collision, shedding light on the catastrophic nature of the crash.

As the community grapples with the loss of two lives in a single moment, the details surrounding the incident remain scarce, leaving many questions unanswered in the wake of this heartbreaking event.
