Tragic Accident in Marlboro, Ulster County

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a fatal accident took place in Ulster County on Saturday, March 1, claiming the lives of two individuals. The incident occurred in the town of Marlboro, where Donna Cristallo, aged 72, was pushing Stephen Celuch, aged 75, in his wheelchair across Route 9W.

The tragedy unfolded around 9:30 p.m. as the pair attempted to cross the busy road. Unfortunately, a 2020 Kia Forte traveling southbound collided with them as they entered the southbound lane. The impact was devastating, with Celuch being pronounced dead at the scene, and Cristallo succumbing to her injuries after being transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.

Details of the Accident

The vehicle involved in the accident, driven by 25-year-old Angela Fischl from Orange County, continued southbound on Route 9W before being stopped by the Newburgh Town Police on North Plank Road. The New York State Police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and are urging any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward by calling 845-691-2922.
