Two Elderly Pedestrians Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Marlboro

In a devastating incident in Marlboro, New York, two elderly pedestrians were struck by a hit-and-run driver, leaving one dead and the other with fatal injuries.

Details of the Incident

On Friday evening, 72-year-old Donna Cristallo and 75-year-old Stephen Celluch, both residents of Kingston, were crossing Route 9W in Marlboro. Cristallo was pushing Celluch in his wheelchair when a 2020 Kia Fortes hit them in the southbound lane.

Tragically, Celluch was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cristallo succumbed to her injuries after being transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.

Driver Identified and Arrested

The driver of the Kia, 25-year-old Angela Fischl from Newburgh, fled the scene but was apprehended by the Town of Newburgh Police Department on North Plank Road. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
