Shooting Incident in Campsie, Sydney

In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old man was injured in a car park shooting in Campsie, Sydney’s south-west on September 12 last year. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his head and chest at a car park on Canterbury Road around 9.20pm.

Recovery and Investigation

The injured man was promptly treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Fortunately, he has since made a full recovery. Following the incident, police discovered that the white Mercedes sedan involved in the shooting had crashed into a home in Kingsgrove and was set on fire. Luckily, no one was harmed in this particular incident.

Arrests and Charges

Seven individuals were identified as allegedly involved in the subsequent incidents, with two firearms used in the shooting being recovered. Five men were arrested and charged last week after police conducted a city-wide operation. Various items were seized during the arrests, including gel blasters, replica revolvers, crossbows, knives, and drugs.

City-Wide Police Operation

During the operation, a 19-year-old man in North Parramatta was charged with possessing an unauthorised pistol, while a 22-year-old man in Granville faced multiple charges, including shoot at with intent to murder. Detectives also seized electronics, cannabis, and cash from a home in Merrylands, leading to the arrest of a 20-year-old man for destroying property in company use fire.

Continued Investigations

As investigations continue, a 19-year-old man from Silverwater prison has been transferred to Riverstone Police Station and is expected to face charges related to property damage by fire. Additionally, a 19-year-old man in Greystanes has been charged with various offenses, including shoot at with intent to murder and participating in a criminal group.
