LUCKNOW: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan found himself in hot water after being booked for shooting at the stumps to inaugurate a local cricket match in the town of Ambedkarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The incident, which took place on March 1st, quickly went viral on various social media platforms.

Probe Initiated by Senior Police Officers

Following the circulation of the video, senior police officers wasted no time in directing a thorough investigation into the matter. The jawan in question was identified as Santosh Kumar Singh, a CRPF personnel stationed in Delhi but hailing from the village of Ahariya Majre Khewar in Uttar Pradesh.

License of the Pistol Found in Jawan’s Name

During the investigation, police discovered that the .32 bore pistol used in the incident was licensed in Singh’s name. Authorities have taken swift action by seizing the weapon and lodging a First Information Report (FIR) against him. The district administration has also been contacted to cancel the license for the firearm.

Action Initiated by Ambedkarnagar SP

The Superintendent of Police in Ambedkarnagar stated, “We have submitted a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs headquarters to take appropriate action against the accused jawan.” The severity of the incident has prompted swift measures to ensure accountability and deter such reckless behavior in the future.
