Man Arrested for Holding Woman Captive in Nashville Basement

In an alarming incident that took place in Nashville, Tennessee, a man has been arrested for allegedly keeping a woman captive in the basement of a home for three days. The accused, identified as 53-year-old Liddon Crutcher, was taken into custody by the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Details of the Incident

The harrowing ordeal began when the woman visited the home on Tuesday, Feb. 27, to check on a friend, Liddon Crutcher. However, during the visit, Crutcher reportedly became agitated and forcefully confined the woman in the basement of the house. Shockingly, the door to the basement was locked with a deadbolt, leaving the woman trapped.

According to the victim, whenever she was allowed to leave the basement, Crutcher would block the front door to prevent her from escaping the premises. Additionally, she revealed that she was deprived of food and water throughout the entire ordeal, adding to the terrifying nature of the situation.

Violent Confrontation

The situation escalated further on Friday when Crutcher allegedly entered the basement and threatened to kill the victim. A physical altercation ensued, during which Crutcher attempted to strike the woman with a hammer. However, the hammer ended up hitting her foot instead. In a shocking turn of events, Crutcher then commanded his dog to attack the woman, resulting in injuries.

Fortunately, the victim managed to escape after waking other residents in the home and sought refuge at a neighbor’s house, where she promptly contacted the authorities.

Legal Ramifications

Following the incident, Liddon Crutcher was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest. He is currently held in Metro Jail on a $75,000 bond, as per records from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
