James New : “Shoplifting Arrests: Two suspects caught in the act”

In Pulaski County, Kentucky, Sheriff Bobby Jones reported that two individuals were arrested following a shoplifting complaint at a local Dollar General store.

Location of the Incident

The incident took place at the Dollar General store located at the intersection of W. Highway 80 and Highway 914.

Prior to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, a deputy was dispatched to the store after receiving reports of a shoplifting incident.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival at the scene, the deputy was informed that the suspects had fled the parking lot in a gold Mazda car, striking an employee in the process while attempting to obtain the car’s license plate.

Through video footage obtained from the store, the suspects were identified as James New, 51, and Robyn Bingham, 46.

Following leads, deputies were able to locate the gold Mazda car at a residence on W. Highway 80 in Nancy.

Upon receiving permission to search the residence, deputies discovered Bingham along with stolen items inside the home.

James New was also found inside the residence and both individuals were subsequently arrested.

Legal Actions Taken

James New was charged with robbery in addition to an active warrant, while Robyn Bingham faced charges of complicity to robbery and two active warrants.

Following their arrests, both New and Bingham were transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
