Garoth, Madhya Pradesh: A heartbreaking incident has unfolded in Rundi village, located within the Shamgarh police station jurisdiction in Mandsaur district. Prakash Banjara, a resident of the village, took his own life along with his two children, daughter Suman and son Akash, in a devastating act that has left the community reeling.

Allegations of Harassment

The tragedy was accompanied by a suicide note in which Prakash Banjara detailed months of alleged harassment and torment at the hands of a fellow villager named Raju Banjara and others in the community. The note paints a grim picture of sustained mistreatment towards Prakash’s wife, culminating in the drastic decision to end their lives.

Prakash Banjara, who made a living selling blankets on his motorcycle, had recently returned from a business trip to South India before the incident took place. The note suggests that the harassment and abuse had been ongoing for three to four months, with no respite despite complaints made to the authorities. Raju Banjara stands accused of not only targeting Prakash’s wife but also intimidating the family by allegedly attempting to influence the police with his wealth.

Following the triple suicide, local authorities, including the Assistant Superintendent of Police and Sub-Divisional Officer of Police in Garoth, have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. The incident has once again highlighted the pressing need for improved safety and security measures in rural communities, urging swift action against perpetrators of harassment and violence.
