Tragic Incident in New Hope, Alabama
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 2-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being attacked by dogs in New Hope, Alabama. The incident occurred on Friday, leaving the entire community in shock and mourning.
Details of the Incident
According to reports from WAFF, the owner of the dogs involved in the attack stated that the young boy somehow managed to open the gate to his backyard, gaining access to the animals. While the gate was latched, it was not securely locked, allowing the child to enter the yard where the dogs were kept.
The boy’s mother took to Facebook to express her grief, referring to the incident as a tragic accident with no one to blame. The owner of the dogs, a Husky and a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, claimed that his pets had never displayed aggressive behavior before.
Victim Identified
The young victim was identified as Mark Alan, a beloved member of the New Hope community. Madison County Coroner Dr. Tyler Berryhill confirmed that the boy succumbed to fatal bite wounds at the scene of the attack. An autopsy is scheduled to take place in the coming week to determine the exact cause of death.
