Reports suggest that the tragic accident involved a 2016 Mazda CX-5, driven by an 18-year-old student from Lakeside High. The vehicle overturned, leaving one passenger trapped inside with life-threatening injuries. The driver and two other passengers were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Suspected Involvement of Alcohol
DeKalb County Police suspect that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. An open bottle of wine was found inside the vehicle, and the driver admitted to consuming alcohol.
