Tragic High-Speed Chase Ends in Fatal Crash in Graham, Texas

On a fateful Saturday morning in Graham, Texas, a high-speed chase led to a devastating crash that claimed the lives of two individuals. The incident, which unfolded in the early hours of February 24, 2024, started when a Young County Deputy attempted to pull over a Dodge Caliber for a routine traffic violation on Elm Street.

The driver of the Dodge Caliber, later identified as 51-year-old Eddric Laquinn Mickle from Seguin, Texas, made the fateful decision to evade the deputy’s attempts to stop the vehicle. As the chase ensued through the streets of Graham, Mickle accelerated to speeds of up to 70 mph, putting himself and others at risk.

Tragedy struck when Mickle’s vehicle went airborne near the intersection of 1st Street and Texas Street, causing him to lose control and collide with a tree on the passenger side. Despite efforts to save him, Mickle succumbed to his injuries at Graham Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, 46-year-old Kyris Deshone McGraw from Everman, Texas, also tragically lost his life at the scene of the crash.

Criminal Investigation Underway

Following the fatal crash, law enforcement officials discovered narcotics and a firearm in the Dodge Caliber, prompting the Young County Sheriff’s Office to launch a criminal investigation into the incident. Texas Highway Patrol Troopers were called in to assist with the crash investigation, which remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.
