Tragic Accident Claims the Lives of Two Youths in Koduvally
In a devastating turn of events, two young men lost their lives in a tragic accident that occurred near South Koduvally on Sunday morning. The incident took place around 4:30 a.m when the bike they were riding collided with an electric post on the roadside, resulting in a sudden fire that engulfed them. The victims, identified as Jasir (39) and Abhinand (21), were known to have been involved in several criminal cases, according to Koduvally police.
Details of the Incident
The unfortunate incident occurred as the two youths were travelling from Kozhikode to Thamarassery on National Highway. As they approached the electric pole, the bike crashed into it, causing an immediate ignition that led to the tragic outcome. The flames quickly consumed the bike and its riders, leaving them with severe burns and fatal head injuries.
Rescue Efforts and Investigation
Abhinand, who was riding the bike, was found in a critical condition between the bike and the pole, making it difficult to identify him. Jasir, on the other hand, was rushed to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital but succumbed to his injuries due to extensive burns. The Koduvally police and the Narikkuni fire rescue team, along with local residents, worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire. Additionally, the forensic team conducted a thorough investigation at the crime scene.
Criminal Connections
Authorities revealed that the deceased individuals had a history of involvement in fraudulent activities and were using a bike that belonged to a recently incarcerated criminal charged with theft. During the investigation, five mobile phones were recovered from the scene, raising further suspicions about their criminal connections.
