Man Dies After Stabbing Incident in East Palo Alto

A tragic incident unfolded last month in East Palo Alto, where a man who was stabbed on February 8 has sadly passed away in the hospital. The East Palo Alto Police Department confirmed the devastating news on Saturday, revealing the heartbreaking outcome of the violent attack.

Stabbing Incident on University Avenue and Bell Street

On the fateful evening of February 8, the tranquility of University Avenue and Bell Street in East Palo Alto was shattered by a stabbing incident. At 8:25 p.m., the East Palo Alto police received a distressing call reporting the violent assault. Upon arrival, officers found two men who had been stabbed, both in urgent need of medical attention.

One of the victims was treated at the scene by emergency responders, while the other, identified as Frank Finney, was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the best efforts of medical staff at Stanford Hospital, Finney tragically succumbed to his injuries on March 2.

Police Appeal for Information on Suspect

The East Palo Alto Police Department is actively seeking the public’s help in identifying the perpetrator of this heinous crime. The victims provided a limited description of the suspect as a Hispanic individual with a mustache, clad in a dark hooded sweatshirt. Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.

Despite ongoing investigations, the police have not yet been able to pinpoint a viable suspect. They are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to come forward and assist in bringing justice for Frank Finney and his family.

Appeal for Witnesses and Video Footage

As part of their investigation, the East Palo Alto Police Department is particularly interested in video surveillance footage from the vicinity of the crime scene on the evening of February 8. There is footage showing a white SUV stopped nearby, which may have witnessed the attack on Mr. Finney.

If you were in the area between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. that evening or have access to surveillance footage, the police urge you to come forward and share any relevant information.
