The Shooting Incident in Independence, Missouri

A recent incident in Independence, Missouri has left the community in shock. The Independence Police Department has reported that two officers were shot and injured during a fatal shooting that took place in late February. The officers have since returned home and are in the process of recovering from their injuries.

Details of the Incident

The shooting occurred as the officers responded to reports of a civil process server, identified as Drexel Mack, being shot while serving an eviction to Larry Acree, aged 69. The incident took place in the 1100 block of N. Elsea Smith Rd. Tragically, Officer Cody Allen was also shot and killed during the response.

Following the incident, Acree was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was subsequently charged with two counts of murder in the first degree and is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
