Two Separate Shootings in Louisville Leave Two Dead

In a tragic turn of events, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims of two separate shootings that occurred in Louisville over the weekend. Both victims tragically lost their lives shortly after the incidents took place.

First Victim: Daryasia Wingo

The first victim, identified as 21-year-old Daryasia Wingo from Louisville, was fatally shot in the 3300 block of Noe Way in the Bon Air neighborhood. The incident took place in the early hours of the morning, and despite efforts to save her, Wingo succumbed to her injuries just before 7:10 a.m. Her untimely death has been ruled a homicide by authorities.

It was reported that a man was also shot at the same location and was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries. The community is left reeling from the senseless violence that claimed Wingo’s life.

Second Victim: Larry M. Walker

The second victim, identified as 24-year-old Larry M. Walker of Louisville, was fatally shot in downtown Louisville. Walker passed away at UofL Hospital just before 8 a.m. after succumbing to his gunshot wounds.

Louisville Metro police officers responded to a call in the 500 block of South Fourth Street at around 7 a.m. The area was cordoned off as investigators worked to piece together the events that led to Walker’s tragic death. A woman was also injured in the shooting and was admitted to UofL Hospital for treatment.

LMPD Homicide Unit Investigation

The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating both of these shootings to determine the circumstances that led to the loss of two young lives. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may assist in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

As the city mourns the loss of Daryasia Wingo and Larry M. Walker, residents are reminded of the importance of coming together to support one another in times of tragedy.
