The tragic incident took place in the serene village of Makhnaha, nestled in the heart of Bihar’s Darbhanga district. The picturesque village, known for its lush green fields and warm community spirit, was shattered by a shocking turn of events that left its residents reeling in disbelief.

Patna: A 22-year-old videographer met with a gruesome end in the quaint village of Makhnaha, located within the Baheri police station’s jurisdiction in Darbhanga district, Bihar. The young man, identified as Sushil Kumar Sahni, tragically lost his life while attempting to capture precious moments at a birthday celebration.
According to reports, Sahni was hired by a fellow villager, Rakesh Sahni, to film his daughter’s birthday party. However, tragedy struck when Sahni’s camera battery unexpectedly ran out of charge, disrupting the recording. In a fit of rage, Rakesh verbally abused the videographer before committing a heinous act that shook the entire village.
The accused, along with his accomplices, rushed the injured Sushil to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital for treatment. However, in a shocking turn of events, they abandoned him near the hospital entrance and fled the scene. Despite the medical staff’s best efforts, Sushil succumbed to his injuries, plunging the village into mourning.
Outcry and Demand for Justice
Outraged by the senseless act of violence, the villagers of Makhnaha took to the streets to demand justice for Sushil Kumar Sahni. They staged a protest on the Laheriasarai main road, disrupting traffic flow for hours as they called for the immediate arrest of the culprits responsible for the young videographer’s untimely demise.
Benipur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sumit Kumar intervened to pacify the agitated crowd and restore order on the busy road. The grieving father of the deceased wasted no time in filing a First Information Report (FIR) against Rakesh, who is currently evading law enforcement authorities.
Pursuit of Justice
In a bid to bring the perpetrators to justice, the police have detained three individuals for questioning, suspecting their involvement in the illegal liquor trade. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the main accused, Rakesh, and ensure that he faces the consequences of his actions.
