Accident – Death – Obituary News : The search for the body of the mother of a soldier, who was allegedly abducted by cadres loyal to Arambhai Tenngol, has finally come to an end after nearly four months. The remains of Rifleman H Hoakip’s mother, identified as Nengkim (60), have been located in an Imphal hospital, officials confirmed on Friday.

Hoakip, who was serving in the Jammu and Kashmir sector, had been on leave with his father when the tragic incident occurred on November 7 at Kangchup Chingkhong village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district. The family was en route to Leimakhong when they were confronted by an enraged mob. Manipur Police had reported that a vehicle carrying five individuals, including two women and three men, was attacked by the mob. Four of them were forcibly taken away, while one managed to escape. Hoakip’s father, Manglun Haokip, was found in a critical condition and was airlifted to Base Hospital Guwahati after receiving initial treatment at Leimakhing Military Hospital.

The Army is now working to shift Nengkim’s remains to Leimakhing Military Hospital, from where it will be taken to Churachandpur for her last rites. The tragic incident has left the family devastated, with Hoakip and his father grappling with the loss of their beloved mother and wife.

In a recent development, the Manipur government has lifted the temporary suspension of internet services in Churachandpur district following an improvement in the law and order situation. This move is expected to bring relief to the residents of the area who have been affected by the internet ban.

The search for justice and closure continues for the family of the deceased, as they come to terms with the tragic loss of their loved one. The Army’s efforts to ensure that Nengkim receives a proper farewell reflect their commitment to supporting their personnel during times of distress and tragedy..
