The incident took place on a dark November night, as the teen driver was speeding along Shreve Road in a 2003 Lincoln Aviator. As he approached Pioneer Lane, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The impact of the crash was devastating, with five of the teens being ejected from the vehicle due to not wearing seat belts. One of the teens had to be extricated from the wreckage by first responders.

**Tragic Loss and Serious Injuries**

Sadly, 14-year-old Kevin Landaverde lost his life as a result of the crash. His mother, who spoke to 7News, identified him as the victim of this heartbreaking incident. The other teens involved in the crash suffered serious injuries but have since been released from the hospital.

The teen driver, who has not been named by police, was arrested at his home in Pimmit Hills and is currently being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The charges against him are severe, reflecting the gravity of the consequences of his actions that fateful night.
