Accident – Death – Obituary News : MUMBAI: A horrific incident unfolded in a quiet village in Palghar’s Boisar, where two elderly brothers, aged 80 and 72, met a tragic end at the hands of a mentally unstable man. The accused, identified as Kishore Mandal, allegedly hacked the brothers to death in their own home on Thursday night.

The victims, Mukund Patil and his brother Bhimrao, were well-known members of the close-knit community in the village. According to eyewitnesses, Mandal had been seen lurking around the area for the past few days before committing the gruesome act.

It was around 7pm when Mandal, armed with an axe, barged into the brothers’ residence and launched a brutal attack on Mukund, resulting in his untimely demise. Moments later, Bhimrao walked in on the horrific scene and was met with the same fate as his brother, succumbing to Mandal’s vicious assault.

Following the double homicide, Mandal attempted to flee the scene by targeting another house in the vicinity. However, the swift action of the locals and law enforcement officers thwarted his escape as he was apprehended in a marshy water body in the nearby forest around 11.30pm.

Authorities have since taken Mandal into custody and registered a murder case against him, citing suspicions of his mental instability. As investigations continue, details about Mandal’s background and motives are being pieced together to shed light on this senseless tragedy that has shaken the peaceful village to its core.
