Man Accused of Stabbing Two Teens, One Fatally, in Chicago Heights

A shocking incident unfolded in south suburban Chicago Heights when a man allegedly stabbed two teenagers, leaving one dead and the other injured. The suspect, Oronde Hardy, aged 50, is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the attack that took place in the 1500 block of Hanover Street, Chicago Heights.

Disturbance Leads to Tragic Consequences

The tragic incident occurred on Monday afternoon when Chicago Heights police responded to a call of a disturbance in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered two teenagers with stab wounds, later identified as David Sanchez, aged 13, and another 14-year-old boy. Investigations revealed that Hardy had allegedly stabbed the boys following an argument and then fled from the scene.

Victims Rushed to Hospitals

David Sanchez was rushed to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The second victim, the 14-year-old boy, was taken to Stroger Hospital for treatment and is currently recovering from his injuries.
