A chilling incident unfolded in the quiet town of Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, where a college student met his tragic end at the hands of his friends. Yash Mittal, a first-year BBA student at a prestigious university in Greater Noida, was reported missing by his father, Pradeep Mittal, after he failed to return home from a party.
Discovery of the Body
After an intense search operation, the Greater Noida Police made a grim discovery – Yash Mittal’s lifeless body was found buried in a pit in the dense forests of Tigriya region in Amroha. The victim’s father had raised an alarm when Yash did not show up on the university campus, prompting the authorities to take swift action.
Arrest and Encounter
Following the leads provided by one of the accused, Rachit, the police made an arrest and launched a manhunt for the other perpetrators. An encounter ensued near Dadha area, resulting in the apprehension of three more suspects – Shubham, Sushant, and Sumit. The accused were wounded in the legs during the exchange of fire and are currently under medical care.
Revelations and Deception
During interrogation, Rachit confessed to the heinous crime, revealing that Yash Mittal was lured to a party in Amroha where a dispute escalated into a fatal altercation. The perpetrators then concocted a kidnapping plot, demanding a ransom of Rs 6 crore from the victim’s family in a bid to mislead the authorities.
Police Investigation
DCP Saad Mian Khan shed light on the investigation, highlighting Yash’s association with the accused individuals from Gajraula. The victim had befriended the group in November the previous year, engaging in social gatherings and parties. The fatal confrontation at Rachit’s farmhouse marked a tragic end to their camaraderie.

While one of the suspects, Shubham Chaudhary, remains at large, law enforcement agencies are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to bring him to justice. The community is reeling from the shock of such a callous act committed by individuals once considered friends.
