Residents of Ismailganj area in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow were left in shock on Wednesday as a woman allegedly killed her husband with a grinding stone. The incident, which took place in Vaishali Enclave, has sent shockwaves through the local community.

The victim, identified as Surendra Shah, was a 47-year-old tea shop owner in Ismailganj. His daughter, Puja Shah, filed a police complaint against her mother, accusing her of attacking her father over suspicions of an extramarital affair. DCP (north) Abhijit R Shankar confirmed that the police have taken the accused woman, identified as Rekha, into custody based on the complaint lodged by her daughter. An FIR has been registered under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (concealment of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and investigations are currently ongoing.
