Arrests Made in Connection to Armed Robberies Across Bay Area Counties

Two individuals have been apprehended in relation to a series of armed robberies that occurred in various counties across the Bay Area. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspects were taken into custody following a high-speed chase that involved a 7-year-old child in the vehicle.

Incident Details

The incident unfolded at approximately 2 p.m. when authorities from the Lafayette Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a fast-food establishment on Mount Diablo Boulevard. Subsequent investigations revealed that the suspects were also involved in similar crimes in Solano County and Marin County earlier that day.

Shortly after the initial report, law enforcement officers spotted the suspect vehicle heading westbound on Highway 24. The suspects attempted to evade capture, leading to a pursuit that culminated in a collision on Camino Pablo, which transitions into San Pablo Dam Road. The ensuing crash resulted in the closure of the road for a period of time.

Suspects Apprehended

Following the collision, two individuals from the suspect vehicle, identified as Jajuan Ojeda from Oakland and Aevra Taylor from Sacramento, were taken into custody. It was revealed that the 7-year-old child present in the car was related to one of the suspects. Ojeda and Taylor have since been booked on charges including robbery, felony evasion, and child endangerment.

Additionally, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was hospitalized for precautionary measures.

Businesses Targeted

Although authorities did not disclose the names of the establishments that were targeted in the robberies, it is worth noting that a Taco Bell is situated at 3501 Mount Diablo Blvd, the location where the initial armed robbery took place.
