The Tragic Discovery in Taxila

In a shocking turn of events, a tortured body of a man in his 20s was discovered in the wheat fields of Gulshan-i-Sehat town near Taxila in the early hours of Wednesday. The victim, identified as Hafiz Muhammad Arsalan, had joined the Tableegh team and travelled to Peshawar. His body, found naked with torture marks on eight different parts, was spotted by locals, leading to a police investigation into the matter.

Arrests Made in Kite Smuggling and Gambling Cases

On the same day, police foiled a smuggling attempt of kites and string rolls from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab. A suspect named Nazim ud Din was arrested at the Chach interchange with 700 kites and 100 string rolls. In Taxila, two kite sellers, Sumair and Rehan, were apprehended with 230 kites and nine string rolls. Additionally, 13 individuals were arrested in Wah Cantonment for violating the kite flying ban.

In other incidents, police cracked down on illegal gambling activities in Fatehjang and Hassanabdal, arresting a total of 13 individuals and seizing gambling tools and bet money. Cases were registered against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.

Burglaries Rock the Lalarukh Area

Meanwhile, burglars targeted two houses in the Lalarukh area within the Wah Cantonment Police Station jurisdiction, making off with cash and gold ornaments worth millions of rupees. One homeowner, Farooq Bajwa, reported a loss of Rs 0.4 million, while Shahwaiz Tariq and his family were robbed of Rs 0.6 million in cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables. The police have registered cases and are actively investigating these break-ins.
