A chilling incident unfolded on a busy stretch of I-75 in Groveland Township recently, leaving motorists shocked and shaken. Thomas Robert Trim, a 23-year-old man from Mt. Morris, stands accused of firing a gun at a woman not once, but twice, as she drove along the freeway near Grange Hall Road.

The Alleged Aggressive Driving Incident

According to reports from Michigan State Police, the victim recounted a harrowing tale of aggressive driving by Trim. She claimed that he had been driving recklessly, passing on the shoulder, and attempting to force her off the road. The situation escalated when Trim allegedly pointed a gun at her, leading to a series of terrifying events.

As the woman slowed down and dialed 911 for help, Trim reportedly fired shots at her through the open passenger window of his car. He then maneuvered around her vehicle, rolled down his driver’s window, and fired at her once more before speeding away from the scene. Miraculously, the woman emerged physically unscathed from the ordeal, but the mental trauma of the incident lingers.

The Arrest and Subsequent Charges

Thanks to the victim’s detailed description of Trim’s vehicle, law enforcement officers were able to track him down and place him under arrest. Trim now faces serious charges of felonious assault and discharge of a weapon from a vehicle in connection with the disturbing events that transpired on I-75.

Lieutenant Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police condemned the incident as yet another senseless act of gun violence stemming from road rage.
