Accident – Death – Obituary News :

About the Incident

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the sisters of a man who was tragically shot in his own home by suburban Chicago police have taken legal action against the officers and their department. The incident took place in the Villagebrook Apartments in Carol Stream, a quiet suburb just outside of Chicago.

The Lawsuit

Kyenna McConico and Kennetha Barnes, the sisters of the late Isaac Goodlow III, have filed a federal lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Chicago. The lawsuit names the Carol Stream Police Department and officers identified as John Does 1-6 as defendants, seeking unspecified damages for wrongful death and other counts.

The Tragic Event

On the fateful day of February 3rd, officers responded to a domestic violence call at Goodlow’s residence in the early hours of the morning. Despite the police department’s claim of a “tense, uncertain, and rapidly evolving situation,” Goodlow was alone in bed when officers burst into his room and fatally shot him in the heart.

The Unjustified Shooting

According to the sisters’ attorney, Andrew M. Stroth, Goodlow’s girlfriend had already left the home before the officers arrived, leaving Goodlow alone and vulnerable. Stroth described the shooting as “unlawful” and “unjustified,” highlighting the fact that Goodlow posed no immediate threat to the officers.

Seeking Justice

As the investigation into the incident continues, the family of Isaac Goodlow III is determined to seek justice for their loved one. With the support of their attorney, they are hopeful that the truth will come to light and that those responsible for Goodlow’s untimely death will be held accountable.
