The Arrest of a 30-Year-Old Man in Connection with San Jose Shooting

A 30-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday in connection with an injury shooting that occurred two weeks ago in San Jose’s Burbank neighborhood, authorities have confirmed.

The shooting incident took place at approximately 8 a.m. on Feb. 12 in the 500 block of Laswell Avenue, near Parkmoor Avenue, according to reports from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim of the shooting was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital with what were initially deemed as potentially life-threatening injuries. However, the victim’s condition has since been upgraded to stable.

Arrest Made in San Jose

The Fugitive Apprehension and Surveillance Team made the arrest of the suspect on Monday without any complications in San Jose, as confirmed by sheriff’s office spokesperson Brooks Jarosz in a news release.

The suspect, who has been identified as Cody Neese, was promptly booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of attempted murder, as well as for unrelated outstanding warrants.

Motive for the Shooting

While the sheriff’s office has not disclosed a possible motive for the shooting, Jarosz had previously stated in a news release that the victim appeared to have been targeted in the incident.
