KOKOMO MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF MURDERING MISSING WOMAN

A 39-year-old man from Kokomo, Indiana, is currently in police custody on suspicion of killing a 44-year-old woman who disappeared last month. The victim, Brandi Bradley, was reported missing by her family on Feb. 11, after they last saw her in mid-January in the 800 block of North Jay Street.

Police Investigation and Suspect’s Behavior

According to a news release from the Kokomo Police Department, officers received information in the case and conducted a search of a remote location. Prior to her disappearance, Bradley had posted on social media, alleging that the suspect, John Christy, would be responsible if anything happened to her.

Bradley and another woman reportedly lived in Christy’s home. Friends of the victim informed the police that Christy had been abusive towards Bradley and had a history of violence. Police responded to multiple calls at Christy’s residence in the weeks leading up to Bradley’s disappearance.

Discovery of Potential Evidence

Following Bradley’s disappearance, Christy allegedly exhibited suspicious behavior, including spray-painting his vehicle and inquiring about “burn piles” to dispose of items. Investigators found burnt remains, including suspected human bones, in a dumpster associated with Christy’s construction work.

Further searches led to the discovery of a small red stain believed to be blood and signs of a fire at a separate location. Investigators recovered burnt remnants of personal items and suspected human remains, which are currently undergoing testing for identification.

Arrest and Charges

On Feb. 27, police arrested Christy on a charge of murder, weeks after Bradley went missing. A witness came forward, claiming to have seen Christy attack Bradley with a wrench and dispose of her body in a dumpster, which he then set on fire.

The case continues to unfold as authorities gather more evidence and conduct forensic testing to confirm the identity of the remains found. The community of Kokomo remains shocked and saddened by the tragic turn of events surrounding Brandi Bradley’s disappearance and suspected murder.
