In a tragic turn of events, two more victims have been identified in the fatal head-on crash that occurred on Road 22 and Avenue 7 in Madera County. The victims have been named as 30-year-old Victor Hernandez and 28-year-old Alfredo Morales.
The devastating incident took place at around 6:15 a.m. on February 23, when a collision occurred on Avenue 7, just west of Road 22. The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash involved multiple vehicles, resulting in the loss of several lives.
Additional Victims Named
Joining the list of victims is 78-year-old Robert Jerry Kovar from Auberry, who was the driver of a pickup truck involved in the head-on collision. The identities of the other four victims have not yet been disclosed by authorities.
Three Victims Previously Identified
Previously, the authorities had released the names of three of the eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in the crash. The victims were identified as 34-year-old Hector Orozco from Jalisco, Mexico, 24-year-old Juvenal Jacobo Talavera from Michoacán, Mexico, and Alfredo Sanchez from Mexico.
The fatal accident occurred when a Chevrolet pickup truck veered into the westbound lane and collided with a GMC Safari van carrying eight farmworkers on their way to Lion Farms to work. The impact of the crash resulted in the deaths of seven individuals in the van and one person in the pickup truck. One occupant of the van sustained major injuries but is expected to survive.

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
