In a devastating turn of events, the bodies of a young girl and a youth were discovered in a gruesome scene near a Shiva temple in Mitauli area of Lakhimpur Kheri. The girl’s face was so severely damaged that it was initially challenging to identify her, while the youth had deep head injuries. A pistol was found beside the youth’s body, with two cartridges recovered from his pocket. Family members of the deceased suspect honour killing, although police are investigating the possibility of suicide.
Identification and Investigation
Upon examination of the scene, the investigating officer, CO Shamsher Bahadur, recovered a mobile phone, bike keys, and additional cartridges from the youth’s pocket. The youth was later identified as Kallu Amoti, a resident of Ravendra, through his Aadhaar card. The girl was identified as Uma Bharti, also known as Anshu, aged 21, from Muradpur police station in Maigalganj. While initial findings suggest a tragic end to their lives, police are continuing their investigation.

The victim was identified as Pushpendra Yadav, a transporter from Kasganj, allegedly killed in a case of honour by his lover’s father, a notorious history-sheeter.
