In a heartwarming display of support, a GoFundMe campaign set up for Trooper Seaburg and his family has already raised more than $100,000. Seaburg, who is the sole provider for his wife and three children, is well-loved in the community and known for his dedication to keeping the streets safe.

Neighbours and friends of Seaburg have expressed shock and disbelief at the incident, but are not surprised by the outpouring of support. “Ray is well respected and well known, and lots of people are loving him and really think that he’s a great guy. They are rooting for him to come through,” said a neighbour who wished to remain anonymous.

Seaburg’s Heroic Actions

Seaburg’s bravery and dedication to his job were evident on the day of the incident. When the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jason Posada, refused to stop and crashed into another car, Seaburg pursued him into an apartment complex on West James Place. A struggle ensued, during which Posada shot Seaburg multiple times.

Life-Saving Response

Thanks to the quick response of Kent police officers and troopers, Seaburg’s life was saved. Despite suffering severe injuries, including a severed femoral artery, Seaburg is currently recovering in Harborview Medical Center.

Suspect Apprehended

The suspect, Jason Posada, was arrested shortly after the incident. He has an extensive criminal history, including eight felony convictions.
