Accident – Death – Obituary News : VARANASI: A tragic incident occurred in Sikrara, Jaunpur district, where six labourers lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries in a collision between a roadways bus and a tractor-trolley late on Sunday night. The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), rural, Shailendra Kumar Singh, revealed that the roadways bus, en route to Gorakhpur from Prayagraj, collided with the tractor-trolley carrying construction workers near the Samadhganj market under Sikrara police limits around 11.30 pm.

The impact of the collision caused the tractor-trolley to overturn, leading to a devastating outcome. Upon hearing the cries of the injured individuals, local residents rushed to the scene and promptly alerted the authorities. Jaunpur SP Ajay Pal Sharma, ASP (rural) Shailendra Kumar Singh, and several senior officials swiftly arrived at the site to assess the situation. The police seized the roadways bus and transported the damaged tractor-trolley to the Sikrara police station for further investigation.

Tragically, five workers lost their lives at the scene of the accident, while another succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment at Machhlishehar hospital. The Station Officer (SO) of Sikrara, Rajaram Dwivedi, identified the deceased workers as Niraj Saroj (28), Chai Musahar (22), Govind Bind (30), Rajesh (45), Sangram Vishwakarma of Alishahpur area of Sikrara, and Atul Saroj (30) of Baksha area. The police promptly contacted the families of the deceased and arranged for the bodies to undergo postmortem examinations.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers faced by workers commuting to and from their job sites.
