Police Vehicle Escorting Tejashwi Yadav Collides With Car In Bihar (File Photo)
Purnea: A tragic incident occurred in Bihar’s Purnea district, where one person lost their life and six others sustained injuries after a police vehicle escorting RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav collided head-on with a car on Monday.
Details of the Accident
The deceased, a 50-year-old home guard, was identified as Mohd Halim, who was driving the police jeep at the time of the collision. The six injured individuals were members of the Bihar Military Police (BMP) who were also in the same vehicle.
According to Purnea SP Upendra Nath Verma, the incident occurred as Tejashwi Yadav was passing through the district on his way to Katihar. A police vehicle was sent from the police lines to escort him, but unfortunately, the jeep veered onto the wrong side of the road and crashed into an oncoming car.
Condition of the Injured
The injured BMP jawans were rushed to the government medical college in Purnea, where they are currently being treated. Thankfully, their condition is stable, and they are expected to recover from their injuries.
Jan Vishwas Yatra
Tejashwi Yadav was on a tour of the state as part of his “Jan Vishwas Yatra” when the accident took place. The occupants of the car that was hit suffered only minor injuries, thanks to the airbags in their vehicle that minimized the impact of the crash.
