Tragic Incident on Interstate 95

A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Interstate 95 in South Florida, where a mother now faces charges in connection with the deaths of her 3-year-old twins. Shirlene Napoleon Alcime, 42, was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of child neglect causing great bodily harm, after her twins were found unresponsive inside a car on the busy highway.

Arrest and Court Appearance

Alcime made her first court appearance via video conference from a hospital bed in jail, where she was ordered held without bond. The judge mentioned the possibility of murder charges, pending the state’s attorney’s decision.

Allegations of Planning

According to an arrest report, Alcime had been planning to kill her children and herself for the past two months due to financial struggles. She drove around with the twins on the day of the incident, looking for a place to carry out the tragic act.

Heartbreaking Scene on I-95

Alcime parked her vehicle on the I-95 overpass near the Florida’s Turnpike Extension, where she contemplated ending her children’s lives before her own. A tow truck driver passing by intervened and tried to help when he saw the children unresponsive.

Tragic Outcome

Despite the driver’s efforts to save the twins, they were later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Alcime herself jumped off the overpass in an attempt to end her life, resulting in severe injuries that required hospitalization.

Ongoing Investigation

The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner is still determining the cause of death for the fraternal twins, a boy and girl named Milendhet and Milendhere G. Napoleon-Cadet. The community mourns the loss of these young lives in a tragic and senseless event that has left many in shock.
