A devastating incident occurred in Tiffin, Iowa, where a fire broke out at a duplex in the 100 block of Stephans Street, resulting in the tragic death of a victim.

Details of the Incident

The fire erupted just before 9 a.m. on Sunday, spreading to the adjoining residence and causing heavy fire and smoke damage to both units. Johnson County deputies had initially responded to a welfare check at the duplex and made contact with the resident before the fire started.

Victim’s Identity Confirmed

The victim, identified as 34-year-old James Christensen, was taken to the hospital following the fire but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
