Accusations Against Brandon Brown
Brandon Brown, aged 34, stands accused of the heinous crime of killing Antonio Mayes. The Baltimore Police Department discovered Mayes’ lifeless body on the 1000 block of Valley Street, riddled with multiple gunshot wounds to his head, back, and arms. The prosecution has leveled charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction against Brown.
The Defense’s Stance
Robert D. Cole, Jr., Brown’s defense attorney, vehemently defended his client against the grave accusations. The crux of the defense’s argument lay in questioning the credibility of two key prosecution witnesses – a convicted sex trafficker and a convicted armed robber – due to their criminal past. Cole urged the jury to use their common sense and discern the unreliability of one of the witnesses, whom he claimed to be “100 per cent unreliable.”
