In a tragic incident that shook the community of San Jose, two individuals have been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place earlier this month. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was dropped off at a local emergency room on Feb. 13 and despite receiving medical care, succumbed to his injuries.

Incident Details

The incident occurred near Spring and Taylor streets, marking the 5th homicide of the year in San Jose. It was revealed during the investigation that the victim had been involved in a physical altercation that led to the fatal stabbing. Homicide detectives quickly identified the prime suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

Arrests Made

On Feb. 17, officers conducted a traffic stop on the 200 block of Umbarger Road near the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, leading to the arrest of the prime suspect, 32-year-old Ryan Hope of San Jose, and a second suspect, 38-year-old Dulce Chavez of San Jose. Hope was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder, while Chavez was booked on suspicion of felony assault.

Next Steps

Hope is currently being held without bail, with his next court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
