The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced the arrest of a man in connection to a homicide that took place on Feb. 23, on the 1600 block of New York Avenue, NE.

Details of the Incident

Upon receiving a report of an unconscious person at the location, officers from the MPD swiftly responded. They discovered a woman inside a hotel room, with evident signs of trauma to her body. Tragically, the victim, identified as 36-year-old Romaine Maddox, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Arrest and Charges

Following an extensive investigation, 59-year-old William Barrett was apprehended on Feb. 23 and charged with first-degree murder in connection to the case.
