Drive-By Shooting Incident in George County

Over the weekend, George County Sheriff Deputies responded to a disturbing incident in the 200 block off of Old Highway 26. A drive-by shooting had targeted a residence on February 24, 2024, sending shockwaves through the community.

Upon arrival at the scene, Deputies found that a mobile home had been struck by gunfire while an adult female and two children were inside. The senseless act of violence had put innocent lives at risk, sparking fear and concern among residents.

Shortly after this harrowing incident, another call came in from the Highway 26 and Grill Rd area. A resident reported a suspicious male arriving at their home, asking for help and a phone. However, the situation took a dark turn when the male snatched the caller’s phone and fled the scene.

Following a thorough investigation, Deputies managed to track down the suspicious male to a possible location. They attempted a traffic stop, only to discover that the male was involved in a car-jacking incident. The victim of the car-jacking was able to escape the vehicle, but the suspect refused to surrender.

What ensued was a high-speed chase that culminated in a rollover accident. Miraculously, no injuries were reported despite the dangerous nature of the pursuit. The suspect, identified as 16-year-old Noah Davis from Lucedale, MS, was apprehended and taken into custody.

After appearing in George County Justice Court, Davis was slapped with multiple charges and hefty bonds. He faces accusations of Shooting into a Dwelling, Motor Vehicle Theft, Armed Carjacking, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Fleeing Law Enforcement. The severity of the charges highlights the gravity of his actions.

Davis remains behind bars, awaiting further legal proceedings. The incident has left the community reeling, underscoring the need for vigilance and swift justice in the face of such senseless violence.
