In a devastating turn of events, a woman named Chrystal White, 51, was found dead in her tent with stab wounds in Lawrence, Kansas. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday behind the original Johnn’s Tavern, north of 100 Maple St.

Arrest and Charges

The Lawrence Police Department made a significant announcement on Monday, Feb. 26, revealing that Julius R. Beasley, 40, of Lawrence, had been arrested and charged with the murder of Chrystal White. Beasley had been detained for four days following the tragic discovery.

After responding to reports of a medical emergency at the campsite, first responders found White inside her tent, where she was pronounced deceased. Julius Beasley, who was identified as a person of interest, was later detained for questioning in Burcham Park, just across the Kansas River.
