Tragic Incident in Northeast Heights Apartment

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 20-year-old man has been arrested after his ex-girlfriend was found dead in her apartment in Northeast Heights, New Mexico. The victim, identified as Alianna Farfan, was discovered lifeless in her bedroom on January 11.

Details of the Crime

According to Albuquerque police, a friend who was staying with Farfan heard a gunshot coming from her room and immediately rushed to investigate. Upon breaking down the door, they found Farfan had been shot in the face. The suspect, Alexander Ortiz, was reportedly wearing a ski mask and fled the scene through a window after the shooting.

Motive Revealed

Friends of the victim informed detectives that Farfan had been in an abusive relationship with Ortiz and that he was upset with her on the day of the incident. Due to her fear of being alone, Farfan had asked her friends to stay with her. It was also disclosed that Ortiz had a habit of wearing a ski mask, which was known to be significant to him.

Arrest and Charges

Ortiz was apprehended by police after a brief standoff and has since been booked into the Metro Detention Center on a murder charge. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the tragic loss of Alianna Farfan.
