Police in Koreatown, Los Angeles are on the lookout for a woman who attempted to kidnap a 4-year-old boy at a Target store. The incident took place at the Next on Sixth Apartments located at 620 S. Virgil Ave., situated between Sixth Street and Wilshire Boulevard.
Attempted Kidnapping at Target Store
The alarming incident unfolded around 12:40 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon at the Target store within the bustling Next on Sixth Apartments complex. The tranquil shopping experience turned into a nightmare for the child and his parent.
Brave Confrontation
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect, a 40-year-old woman, brazenly grabbed the young boy from behind and attempted to forcibly take him out of the store. However, she was met with fierce resistance when the child’s parent intervened and confronted her.
Suspect on the Run
After being thwarted by the parent, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Descriptions provided by witnesses indicate that she was wearing a distinctive brown jacket, a black shirt, blue jeans, and black and white shoes. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to come forward and assist in the investigation.
