In a shocking turn of events in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, a man addicted to online gaming took drastic measures to settle his debts by murdering his own mother. The accused, identified as Himanshu, was deeply immersed in gaming on the popular platform Zupee, which led to massive financial troubles and mounting debts.

The Gruesome Incident

Himanshu’s addiction to online gaming drove him to borrow money repeatedly, accumulating a debt of nearly ₹4 lakh. Faced with creditors closing in, he hatched a sinister plan to claim his mother’s life insurance payout of ₹50 lakh. To execute his scheme, he allegedly choked his mother, Prabha, to death when his father was away from home.

After committing the heinous act, Himanshu disposed of his mother’s body near the banks of the Yamuna river. When Roshan Singh, his father, returned home and discovered his wife and son missing, he launched a frantic search. With the help of neighbours, he learned about Himanshu’s suspicious activities near the river, leading him to alert the police.

Upon investigation, Prabha’s body was recovered from the Yamuna river vicinity, and Himanshu was apprehended by the authorities. During interrogation, he confessed to the chilling details of his plan to kill his mother in a bid to alleviate his financial woes. Senior police officer Vijay Shankar Mishra expressed shock at the grisly crime, stating, “The son was on the run after murdering his mother. We caught him and unearthed the sinister crime.”
