At around 8 a.m. on February 23, deputies responded to reports of a vehicular accident and arrived at the scene to find a 2013 Toyota Camry overturned and engulfed in flames. The driver, identified as 55-year-old Melanie D. Avery of Lawson, Missouri, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and tragically lost her life in the crash.
