The Tragic Salinas Highway 101 Crash
Early Saturday morning in Salinas, California, a devastating crash occurred on Highway 101 that left two individuals injured and one person dead. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the details surrounding this heart-wrenching incident.
Details of the Crash
At approximately 4:54 a.m., a 1995 Toyota Camry was travelling southbound on Highway 101 with three occupants inside. Suddenly, the vehicle failed to navigate a curve in the road, causing the driver to lose control. The Camry ultimately rolled over and collided with the Laurel Drive exit sign.
Tragically, both the driver and the right rear passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, leading to their ejection from the vehicle. All three individuals were rushed to Natividad Medical Center for treatment.
The Aftermath
Regrettably, the 28-year-old male driver from Salinas succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the two passengers, identified as a 29-year-old male and a 24-year-old male from Salinas, sustained major injuries. The California Highway Patrol has indicated that alcohol and/or drugs may have been contributing factors in this devastating crash.
