Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Yuridia Flores, a loving wife and mother of two, tragically lost her life in a fatal crane incident at the Oakridge Park development in Vancouver. The incident occurred at the construction site located at Cambie and 41st avenue on Wednesday, where a crane’s load came crashing down and struck Flores.

Family Seeks Support Through GoFundMe Campaign

Following the devastating loss, Flores’ family launched a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for her funeral expenses and to transport her back to her natal city of Acapulco Guerrero. The campaign, started by her family, has already garnered over 26 thousand dollars in donations.

Eye-Witness Accounts Detail the Tragic Event

According to workers at the construction site, the load that fell from the crane was a construction table that plummeted approximately 30 stories to the ground below, where Flores was standing. The incident led to the evacuation of between 1,700 and 1,800 workers in the area at the time.

One worker recounted the harrowing moment, stating, “The table was being pulled out and, for whatever reason, it started spinning and it hit the side of the building. Once it hit the side of the building, the piece that holds it to the crane came loose and it fell, smashing all the way down.”

Investigation Underway

Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, along with other authorities, are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. The community has come together to support Flores’ family during this difficult time, with an outpouring of love and donations pouring in through the GoFundMe campaign.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Yuridia Flores as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
