Patna: The body of a 26-year-old man, identified as Vishal Thakur (26), was found hanging in a hotel room at Exhibition Road under Gandhi Maidan police station area in the state capital on Friday. Vishal was a resident of Husena village in Siswan sub-division of Siwan district.

Discovery of the Tragic Incident

The incident came to light when the police broke open the room’s lock and discovered Vishal’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. According to police reports, Vishal had booked the hotel room on Thursday. The hotel staff tried to clean his room on Friday morning, but received no response from inside. Concerned, the staff informed the hotel manager, who then contacted the Dial-112 police team.

Postmortem and Handing Over of the Body

The postmortem examination was conducted at PMCH, and Vishal’s body was later handed over to his family. SHO Sita Ram Prasad provided details of the investigation and the subsequent procedures followed.

In a related development, the Radisson Hotel Group recently announced the signing of Radisson Blu Hotel, Ayodhya, a 150-room greenfield project in partnership with Jeewani Hospitality and EaseMyTrip. This new hotel in Ayodhya is expected to open in 2027, reflecting the growing market demand in the region.

Additionally, hoteliers under HRAWI have urged the government to consider reducing the existing 18% GST on food and drink services to 5% for restaurants operating within premium hotel premises. The proposal aims to address concerns over disparity, sustainability, and fair competition within the hospitality industry.
