Accident – Death – Obituary News :

An Edgewood resident, Jamar Deverick Wise, aged 43, has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder this week in a tragic incident that shook the community. Wise has agreed to a sentence range of life suspended with all but 80 years suspended without parole for the murder of 46-year-old Kisha Blackwall.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The incident took place on December 20, 2022, when deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at an Edgewood home. A teen girl informed the officers that Wise and her mother were arguing in the front yard, despite a protective order in place prohibiting Wise from being there.

Gunshots were heard during the call, and the girl revealed that her mother had been shot by Wise and was lying in the driveway. The entire ordeal was captured on camera, adding to the shocking developments of the case.

Wise was quickly identified as the shooter by the girl, and it was later discovered that a neighbor had filmed the entire incident on a cellphone. The victim’s two foster children were also present at the time of the murder, further adding to the tragedy of the situation.

Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Gun

Wise managed to flee the area in a rented car after the shooting. However, he was apprehended days later in Pennsylvania on December 22, 2022. At the time of his arrest, Wise was found to be in possession of a stolen gun that was used in the fatal attack on Kisha Blackwall.

Despite being placed on life support following the shooting, the victim succumbed to her injuries, and her death was later ruled as a homicide. The entire community was left in shock and mourning over the tragic loss.

Sentencing and Prosecutor’s Statement

Sentencing for Jamar Deverick Wise has been scheduled for May 10, where prosecutors are expected to seek life imprisonment for the heinous crime he committed. State’s Attorney Alison Healey expressed her dismay over the case, stating that it was one of the worst instances of domestic violence she had ever encountered.

Healey added, “Nothing will bring back their mother or change the fact that their lives were forever altered by the events that they witnessed on that December day. But my hope is that this resolution will bring the victim’s children some peace in knowing that the person responsible for this horrific murder will spend the rest of his life in prison.”

As the community comes to terms with the shocking turn of events, the focus remains on seeking justice for Kisha Blackwall and ensuring that such tragic incidents are prevented in the future.
