Tragic Accident Claims 24 Lives in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh
A devastating incident unfolded in the serene district of Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, as twenty-four individuals, including eight children, lost their lives in a heart-wrenching accident. The unfortunate event occurred when a tractor-trolley carrying occupants overturned and plunged into a pond on the Patiyali-Dariyavganj road under the Patiyali police station area on a fateful Saturday morning.
Details of the Accident
Reports suggest that the occupants of the tractor-trolley were en route to the Ganga river to partake in a customary bath when tragedy struck. The vehicle veered off course while attempting to overtake another vehicle, leading to the catastrophic overturning and subsequent immersion in the seven to eight-foot-deep pond. The aftermath of the accident left 15 to 20 individuals injured, with the loss of twenty-four precious lives, including eight innocent children.
Response and Relief Efforts
As news of the accident spread, Inspector General of Aligarh Range, Shalabh Mathur, conveyed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s condolences to the bereaved families. The Chief Minister promptly announced financial aid of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of each deceased victim and Rs 50,000 to the injured survivors. The local administration and rescue teams swiftly mobilized to provide assistance and transport the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
Identification of Victims
The police department has identified 22 of the deceased individuals, including elderly women like Guddi, Shakuntala, and Meera, along with young children like Sunaina, Kuldeep, and Devanshi. Two other bodies are yet to be identified, adding to the sorrow and uncertainty surrounding the tragic incident.
