Public Tip Helps Identify Woman Found Dead in Santee Creek

Recently, authorities received a crucial tip from the public that led to the identification of a woman who was found deceased in the brush along a creek in Santee, following heavy rains and flooding. The woman has been identified as Faith Angle, a 46-year-old individual who was reportedly experiencing homelessness at the time of her passing.

On January 22, amidst a powerful storm that swept through the region, Angle’s body was discovered along Forester Creek, just west of Cuyamaca Street. County officials have indicated that her death is being investigated as storm-related, although they have not confirmed whether she was swept away by swift water or flooding.

Initial attempts to identify Angle through her fingerprints were unsuccessful. However, three weeks ago, the Medical Examiner’s Office released a sketch of the woman and images of her jewellery in the hopes of obtaining information about her identity.

It remains unclear when the individual who provided Angle’s name came forward. She is one of three individuals who have tragically lost their lives along Forester Creek during the storms that began on January 22.

In addition to Angle, a 61-year-old West African man drowned in the Tijuana River while attempting to enter the United States due to the severe weather conditions. Furthermore, a 67-year-old man lost his life on the same day when his vehicle collided with debris left on a Lemon Grove road by the flooding.
